Hi y’all!
I had some time to dig into some literature this month and here are the ones that made the August Reads list.
- Verity by Colleen Hoover – this book was WILD! I read it in two days because I could not put it down – I needed to know what was happening. It’s not for the faint of heart. This involves some gruesome and graphic sexual and violent content so here is your warning!
- Crash the Chatterbox by Steven Furtick – Ah, the man that leads Elevation Church.. a true inspiration and wise man. This box is very spiritually contextual and refers a lot to the Bible and general faith. This book discusses how to work with and ultimately, silence the voice in your head that brings anxiety, disappointment, and insecurity. A motivating and hopeful read.
- The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday – This is an everyday essential for me. It has one page for every day of the year that teaches the foundations of stoicism to help create wisdom and perseverance. This one helps me feel more in control of my daily reactions and habits and has overall been a positive addition to my morning routine.
- Homebody by Rupi Kaur – In this collection of poems, Rupi leads us through her life’s journey with sexual assault, love, relationships, insecurity, and ultimately, healing. This is one that you can pick up at any time and read sporadically when you need a bout of connection. One of my faves.
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Ah, a fan favorite. Candidly, I am still working on getting through this one but, as someone that doesn’t love to read fiction, this has definitely been entertaining. I promise to follow up with my honest thoughts once I’m done 🙂
I hope these recommendations help and that, if you do decide to pick up one of these, you enjoy them as much as I did.
Love you! Xo
