It is a new season, hunnies! This means a beauty product refresh. Here is a list of all my favorite beauty products I’ve been using lately. You will see not too much has changed since last round-up but, we do have some new finds!
SKIN
Let’s prep the skin because no make up is going to be pristine unless the canvas is prepped.
- Precleanse Cleansing Oil – City-living + daily workouts + make up = a double cleanse. I start with this cleansing oil before jumping into…
- Origins Checks & Balances Face Wash – I have been using this for 5 years and I have yet to find anything I love more. It has a tingly, refreshing feeling and it comes in a value size.
- I know you’re not going to believe me but the Tea Tree Oil cleaning pads from Trader Joe’s are A MUST. I have been using them everyday for 4.5 months and they are $3.99. Run, don’t walk.
- Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel Pads – These have also been in my routine for over 3 years! I use the extra strength 2-3 times a week and they have helped SO much with dullness, texture, dark spots, and preventing fine lines. 10/10!
- Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C and Lactic Acid – I discovered this one a few weeks ago and I have not looked back. I haven’t even worn foundation since I started using this. It is magical. I use it once, sometimes twice per day, as my regular moisturizer.
And that’s pretty much it! I know these items are pricey but since they are the only ones I use (and they are so effective), I find them absolutely worth it.
MAKE UP
Okay, let’s get to the fun stuff. Here is what is in my rotation every day.
- SuperGoop Glow Screen: I LOVE the color and subtle shimmer of this. The new gold color is perfect for my olive skin (the previous one was a bit to light and I felt it washed me out). I’ve also used the Unseen Sunscreen if you are more of a matte gal.
- ✨ NEW FIND ✨ Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer: I’ve been using this for a few weeks from a trail size and it has not creased AT ALL! It also blends in really well, which I appreciate. Just bought the full size 🙂
- Quick plug for my honorable mention, tried and true favorite: Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Concealer
- ✨ NEW FIND ✨ Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extension: this is tubing mascara so it doesn’t EVER smudge and give you raccoon eyes. Not to mention I love the length AND volume here after 2 coats.
- Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel – I swipe over both my brows with this first to get some color and comb through the hair. Then…
- DIPBROW® Waterproof, Smudge Proof Brow Pomade – I use this pomade pot with an angled brush to get the precise shape, definition, and arch I want for the brow.
- Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm – I am truly nothing without this. I am not a chapstick gal but this balm is AMAZING. The best for soft, hydrated lippies. I use it on its own or on top of lipstick every day.
I’m not using much foundation these days but, when I do:
- IT Cosmetics CC cream foundation: This is the one I grab the most. I’ve used the tan color for 2+ years and I love it because it doesn’t smudge, grease, or crease throughout my 12+ hour days.
HAIR
My hair and I are still in a work in progress relationship. Not only have I been bleaching it blonde for 5+ years but the humidity in San Francisco is next level. I’m talking 75%+ every single day – phew. Frizz 🤝 me. I’ve found a few products that help protect, restore, and tame that I figured I’d share.
- Verb Ghost Shampoo and Conditioner: I like this one because it is super gentle and smells so soft and subtle. Sometimes, I want no frills, no extras, just safe, clean hair.
- Color WOW Dream Coat Anti-Frizz Spray: This stuff is MAGIC – I was shook. You have to spray it on damp hair and then use heat to activate it but it leaves my hair so smooth, silky, and soft… and it lasts several washes. I purchased the full value size.
- Money Maker Flexible Hair Spray: I spray this one after I finish my curls or my bangs to help with a subtle hold. Smells great too!
I promise I will keep adding to the hair section once I figure it out.
Have fun shopping and testing and let me know how it goes!
